hey guys,
kyle w. responded to my request with a sample and i have to say, it is brilliant. this guys is a pro and a bit more than I can afford. would anyone else be interested in wireframe models of different emulated consoles to spice up their menu's? anyone willing to commit $$ to the project? I personally can do about $200. here is a sample of his work:

small bump...
if we could get 200 folks at $5 a head, we could get 45 consoles in wireframe format. no interest? i think what he did was beautiful. i wish i could foot the entire sum but that's just not in the cards.

Just wondering, what makes his wireframes so unique? For free you can get everything you need from Google Sketchup...
For example:

Wow, didn't know those were there. I was building these from scratch. If we could find all the systems in an obj format then this would be a lot easier.

I'm sure there are coverters around.

Remember too, that there is real wireframe and fake wireframe when displaying a 3d model.
Real wirefame is you seeing the real polygon edges that are used to create the 3d model, although it is accurate, it isn't as clean looking as fake wireframe as you can see all the polygons, the ones in the front and back. The polygons are triangles (usually)
Fake wireframe is usually what you see in movies when they show a wireframe of a 3d model. Fake wireframe uses squares usually of equal size and is rendered onto the surface of the model to give the impression that those are the models polygons, but in reality it is just a texture. This is a much cleaner look as you can only see the front of the wireframe, all the back polygons are hidden.

or this:

No texture mapping here fella!
EDIT: Oops, I forgot the Playstation logo

Nope I wasn't refering to that. Although that looks really nice.
I was refering to when you can see all the individual triangles that make up a mesh, vs having a fake mesh that is nothing more then a texture of squares that is mapped onto the 3d model's polygons.

That looks like this:

not very attractive.

yes that is what I was talking about, not attractive at all.
BTW what software are those shots from?
