Title: Question Regarding Don's Hyperspin Tools error
Post by: Yourname942 on March 30, 2013, 05:45:27 pm
Does anyone know how to fix this error:

"The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000135). Click on OK to terminate the application."

It is Windows xp and the latest version of Don's Hyperlist tools 4.0.12

Have you got Net Framework 1.1, 2.0 & 3.5 installed.

I can't remember which version it uses off the top of my head.  I am currently rebuilding a machine and to be on the safe side installed all the above.  I didn't bother with 4 as that seems to want SP3 installing and that will break FFB on my wheels. 1.1 & 2.0 will install with XP SP1, 3.5 needs to have SP2 and Windows Installer 3.1

What is SP2 3 and 1 again?

I don't think that he does on the XP. I only tried to install 4 bc I couldn't find earlier releases available.

Make sure to do a Google next time as this specific issue is discussed on Don's Hyperspin tools page:

When try run the Dons HyperSpin List Generator.exe appear the following message of error:

Error 0xc0000135

The solutions is install the client net framework ( http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=182804 (http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=182804))

Found at: http://honerbrink.com/?page_id=14 (http://honerbrink.com/?page_id=14) (Search for 0xc0000135 and you'll find the section)

You basically need .NET 4.0 from the article.  They recommend Service Pack 3 for Windows XP but I can't find anything that says it won't work if you don't have SP3.
