Ok, today I took an Eswat in an Alien Syndrome cabinet in exchange for some repair work.
The board inside the cabinet is labeled Alien Syndrome but it is running Eswat (and some paperwork inside the cabinet had the instructions from Sega on installing the conversion onto the board).
I know the encryption has been broken on the System 16 stuff, so what exactly do I need to do to get this board running Alien Syndrome again. Is it just as simple as reburning all the roms unencrypted with alien syndrome ones and swapping in a new 68000 CPU or is it more involved than that?

Here it is.
Anyone know what control panel overlay that is? It doesn't seem to belong to either Alien Syndrome or Eswat.

To convert the board back to Alien Syndrome, burn a set of ROM's from the MAME Alien Syndrome Set 4 (Unprotected) set, and throw in a regular 68k CPU.
For anybody else looking for System16 resurrection stuff, check these sites out.

I have been told the Eswat rom board isn't compatible with Alien Syndrome.

Augh. :banghead:
You are correct. Alien Syndrome is Pre-System 16.
E-SWAT was System 16B.

It is definitely the same base board, as it clearly labeled Alien Syndrome. But the Alien Syndrome to Eswat kit changed out the rom board for one that doesn't have enough sockets for Alien Syndrome.
