Title: wolfmame .106 and Mouse configuration?
Post by: 1500points on March 28, 2013, 02:12:43 pm
Another question.

Have a trackball hooked up to a PC.
It runs the mouse just fine in windows
In mame .148 the trackball works great after I set the mame.ini to Mouse = 1

BUT...On Wolfmame .106, I can't get mame to recognize the trackball.
the mame.ini is already set to Mouse = 1 (and everything looks similar to the .ini for .148)

for example, centipede on .106 is controllable with the joystick or mouse, but nothing with the trackball.

What am I missing?  Thanks in advance.

Is you trackball ps/2 or usb?  Also, different versions of MAME may detect peripherals differently, so try going up the line from 0-3 (or more, if you have that many usb peripherals).

it is usb, the bob roberts happ conversion kit.

i installed mame 106 from the binaries at mamedev and it behaved the same as wolf 106.

i'd not even mess with 106 except that I want to play marble madness and can't seem to get a working rom set for mame 148.
everything else like kick and crystal castles is working great in mame 148.

Don't know. I'd probly figure it out in a minute on site. I can bet it a configuration issue that you're not understanding what to do via ini (which is why I generally use a gui build to set such things).
