Title: Starting games with Groovy Mame in VGA-Mode?
Post by: Endprodukt on March 25, 2013, 11:54:38 am
I'm overclocking one of my rigs and for testing I'm booting up in VGA Mode. I want to test if I'm allready "there" to play some games fluidly while checking my system in with prime etc.

Is it possible to launch games in VGA Mode from Groovy Mame? I'm getting all kinds of errors no matter what I deactivated (Modeline, Switchres, Ddraw/d3d ect...).

Thanks in advance,

Olli

Hi Endprodukt,

When in VGA mode, the video driver is not loaded so you won't have hardware acceleration for ddraw or d3d to work, your only chances could be using -video gdi, and it will be badly slow.

Thanks calamity, guess I'll have to test this on the crt then.
