Title: help!!!!!!

just get backing into all this and had a problem with mala not launching with start up so had a search and did this

and now it wont boot I'm tired and pissed off its stuck at the login screen i'm running xp is there any going back as ill lose all my roms snaps marquees the lot :(

Did you back up your system before doing this? You can try booting into safe mode. If that doesn't work, and things really look bad, you can try to plug the hard drive that won't boot into an external hard drive enclosure, and if you have access to another machine you can head into the hard drive that won't boot and retrieve all your roms, snaps  etc. Playing around with system settings like that is always risky, but it shouldn't be a total loss yet. First try the safe mode boot, then we can go from there.

ive plugged the hard drive in my other pc and found the file i messed up and replaced it that didn't work,cant access safe mode for some reason tried pressing all of the f keys 1 by 1 on boot but nothing at least i can save all my stuff now(26gb!!) but what a pain it was all ready to go apart from it not booting to mala on start up grrrr!! that will teach me to mess with the registry

found safe mode still gets stuck on the log in screen

If you've messed up Registry, try booting Mini XP from this handy boot CD:

If you do not recall the original Userinit value, I've attached a screenshot showing it. The last symbol is a comma.
