Title: emulator gamelist genre/manufacturer/year/desc data

How can Mala use data like Gamebase/GameEx console info? I checked and found RL and mgleditor but I don't want to create a gamelist that will get destroyed by right-click/refresh main game list which is the easiest way to add a new game. Is there a way or a plan to integrate mameinfo/catver style data to handle that import so the other text definables ~g_* in my layouts will work? I searched and could not see where this was done outside of MAME.
