Hi
I just pulled this from a skip.
Any ideas about what it is, whether it will work and whether the joysticks are 4-way or 8-way (and what are they)?
Basically any info would be greatly recieved! :)

If you pull the joystick diagonally and TWO microswitches click then you have 8 way joysticks. My feeling is these look like 8 ways. I can't ID the control panel but it looks like a conversion kit.

With round actuators I'd say those are 4 way joysticks. Whether or not any of it works is hard to say. I'm sure most of it will work. It depends on how much work you want to put into it and whether or not you want leaf switch buttons. To make the leafs work you'll probably have to clean them and adjust them. New buttons are only a few dollars a peice so its kind of up to you. New joysticks are under $10.
No idea what panel it is, we'd probably need more info but I'd guess the same as the post above and say its a conversion.

Interesting colors on those buttons.
This control panel has definately been through it;s paces.
Looking at it it might be a 4-way since there are no acuator levers on the microswitches that make it easier to hit both directions at once. I bet you could turn it into an 8-way easily enough then by getting those microswitches.
I like the fact that you have microswitch joys and leaf buttons. And looking at the button pattern that is not a popular pattern for three buttons. Usually you have three in a row or two at bottom of triangle and one at top, not two tot he left and one tot he right. And those two buttons are very close tot he joystick for all the room that is on that panel. I bet it was originally a one button per joystick panel.
