Title: Help lighting Led pushbuttons
Post by: gilljaz on March 18, 2013, 10:05:04 am
Hello everyone,
I purchased x 20 led pushbuttons and x 2 led joysticks each at Voltage - 12v,
I was wondering what would be the best power supply for them.

Thanks
Jaz

Perhaps a 12V power supply? ;)

Sorry, couldn't resist. But do you need an extra PSU? Regardless if it is a standard arcade cabinet or a MAME build, there should be 12V available already.

If you just want them lit and nothing more, you can get power directly from the ATX power supply. The yellow wire on the power supplies are the 12V wire.

However if you are going to make the lights do things, like flash, turn on / off for different games, change colours, etc ... then you will need a LED controller, such as the PacLED64 or LED-Wiz.
