Title: Screen flicker with Mala and ArcadeVga
Post by: colonelsnow on March 11, 2013, 11:35:19 pm
I have a arcadevga card hooked up to my Wells Gardner 7200 monitor. When I am at the windows desktop and when I am at my game selection screen in Mala there is an annoying amount of flickering. Is this just how it is with an arcade monitor and windows?

I myself need some help with this.
I created a layout for "colonelsnow" at 640x480.
If 640x288 is required for the Arcade VGA I have no clue how
I'd do that without it looking stretched.

I have another question perhaps someone has dealt with.
If I take an existing layout (as designed prior at 640x480) I can open it in Photoshop, size it to 640x288 and it will fix the problem.
Mind you everything will look squished! Now when displayed it should fill the screen proper.
When I'm doing the MLL in MaLa would I create the layout as fixed 640x288 or scalable ?

I don't know if this answers your question, but here is what I found in the Mala Wiki

"Layouts

MaLa works with two kinds of layouts, fixed size layouts and scalable layouts.
Fixed size layouts are for a specific resolution like 640x288 or 288x640 on arcade monitors."

Thanks!
I'll need to find some time to play with your layout.
Looks like it will need to be %100 redone and reconfigured.
I'll get a sample to you ASAP.
