Title: Computer Specs Questions (trying to run NullDC)
Post by: KeithPuetz on March 09, 2013, 08:54:38 pm
NullDC is running at one frame per second.
Which I don't understand because I have a dual core 3ghz, 4gb ram, NVIDIA integrated 6150se (intergrated graphics.)
Do you know why I am having this problem? Is it a plugin? The graphics card? Windows Vista?
Is there anything I can do to make the emulator playable? Dreamcast is my favorite console, id really like it to work, if you could help me it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I would hazard a guess that its the on-board graphics, i have run nullDC before with similar spec machine (dedicated graphics card though),

it may be Vista as i used XP to run it

When you say on boards graphics do you mean Graphics Card or software.

The graphics card, unlike Mame (that uses processor power) nullDC is dependent on a good graphics card, on-board graphic chipsets dont really cut it

Well they never used to, dont know about the newer on-baord chipsets

Without knowing what type of computer you have, desktop/laptop or type of motherboard if desktop, i would say no, my crystal ball is good but not that good  :blank:.

If it is a desktop you could probably a cheap graphics card for about 30-40 bucks

AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 6000+ 3.00 GHz
2942 MB Ram
32-Bit Operating System
NVIDIA integrated 6150se
Windows Vista

And the opening credits of Dreamcast are currently at 1 fps. It's so slow it can't even get to the menu without freezing.

Please let me know.
You said get a graphics card for it.. So I guess I can STILL get a dedicated graphics card for it??

Keith it's 100% your graphics card.  It was never made to play games.

If you have a desktop you should be able to get a graphics card for it but you'll need to identify what type.  I'm betting your Motherboard is AGP based for graphics card, which isn't really for sale anymore new but they are readily available on Ebay.

If it's a laptop, you're most likely out of luck.

Here are my PC specs. Can someone recommend a graphics card that will emulate PS2/DREAMCAST/GAMECUBE games that will work for the machine?
