I am building my control panel on my small CNC machine. I've been cutting both the acrylic and plywood at the same time. How do you guys secure the edges of the acrylic to the plywood? Of course it will be held down in the middle by the buttons, but what about the edges? I plan to have wood->sticker->acrylic. I was planning on putting t-molding around the edge.
Thanks

Its not held by anything... just offset the t-molding such that it overlaps the plexi.

I remember going to arcades and the machines with plexi used to cover instructions were usually held by screws on the corners, either counter sunk in or button type.

This is what I will be doing, since it's not going anywhere except my house, I want it clean, free off screws that are apparent and easy to replace artwork, should I choose to change themes later, or convert this cab to a dedicated Jamma cab. :)

if theres a chance you`ll be taking the plexi on and off a lot i`d say use carriage bolts in the corners with wingnuts underneath or your t-molding will get damaged eventually

You don't need the secure the edges. It will sit flat and the buttons do enough to hold it down. And T-Molding prevents anything getting underneath it and accidently raising it.

Yes you don't have to put anything to tie down the edges if you dont want to I currently have just my buttons holding down the plexi and nothing on the edges except t molding for over a year now and its worked perfecty.

Thanks guys,
I was probably overthinking it.

In the CP box I'm putting together, I'll be unable to hinge the top and it's also a little difficult to hold it down from the inside. So I'll be putting dome headed bolts through to thread inserts.
