Title: Pentranic Arcade Monitor - Intermittent Buzzing Problem
Post by: s34n on March 06, 2013, 01:17:56 am
I left a machine sitting around for about a year or so, the machine was fine before, then suddenly nothing displays on the screen. I opened the back and I could hear intermittent buzzing coming from the monitor.

If anybody has any schematics or any reasons why this is happening, then please share! I can get the chassis number if required.

Here is a video of the buzzing... The lamp DOES light up on the tube (Can't tell from the video).

Thanks for any insight!

I was getting a similar buzz in my Wells D9200 and it turned out to be the surge protector.

When I googled the buzzing problem most suggestions pointed to something being wrong in the power circuit.

First I thing I tried was plugging it straight into the wall and the buzzing went away. Then I switched surge protectors.

Not saying that this is what your problem is but it can't hurt to try.

if you have tube heaters and hear static on power up then monitor should be working
turn up screen volts on flyback transformer a little to see if you get a raster
