Just a start, but here's my monitor bezel. Theme is from Gravity Falls.
I'm a complete rookie at photoshop, so it may take some time to kick out the side, CP and marquee art.

decided that I needed a few more gnomes

Thats great! The gnomes are awesome!
-
Thanks! I just picked up a Microsoft Surface Pro tablet. This thing is amazing for photoshop. So much easier than using a mouse or a Wacom pen tablet. Something about drawing right on the screen just feels right.
-
I love it!
Curious what the controlpanel and sideart look like!
-
just finished the 1up and 2up button icons for the control panel. I was going to go with the old Atari standby initially, but I like gnomes.

This will be the last of the gnomes though. I've got more art that i'd like to use on the marquee, sides and CP.
-
Here's the marquee. Not sure about the logo size, might be a hair too large. Is the seam between the pictures visible? I tried to cover it up.
I'm hoping the backlight will highlight the lights on the shack.

Not sure if that is the effect you're after, but if you want the marquee to be dark and only light the effects on the house and the lettering; you might print it twice. One on more light weight paper and thicker version as a mask. Cut the areas you want lighted with a scalpel or hobby knife.
In all I really like your style! It woul be fun to have a classic arcade game and restyle it- create your own 'fake' arcade like Fix-it Felix jr. :-)

I really like that Marquee, very very nice.

Just had a quick run down of Gravity Falls. It would seem like a shame to completely pigeonhole yourself into just using just the gnomes on your cab when the show itself has such an array of interesting characters. Look outside the box. Get creative. Better to redo it on your tablet then have to completely re-sand the cab when it's applied and you don't like it.
Also I don't know if you ran over it but Disney actually put out an online game for Gravity Falls. It can be played here http://disney.go.com/disneychannel/games/rumbles-revenge-2017596 (http://disney.go.com/disneychannel/games/rumbles-revenge-2017596). Hopefully it will be useful for inspiration.
Just fell over this in the main forum. This should help too. http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,130957.0.html (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,130957.0.html)

Thanks for the feedback.
I've limited the gnomes to just the bezel and possibly the p1 and p2 start buttons. But those may also end up being dipper and mabel. I haven't designed the CP yet and right now I'm working on the side art. Like you said, with so many characters for the artwork, I have to work more in. I know that I'll end up having different art on each side of the machine.
I've got a couple concepts in the works. Once they're inked up I'll post them for feedback.

For the control panel, I was thinking of making it a desktop, with the various pages and photos from the show spread out on it.
Something along the lines of this:

pages:

Here's the current state of the Control panel. Still needs a lot of work. Sizes, placement and angles of the images need to adjusted. I don't want the pages to just be tiled on there as they are now. But this gets my basic idea across.

just finished up the first revision of the control panel artwork.
looking for some feedback

I like it!
The only thing I would probably change is make the 'thanks fot the quarter' sheet a bit smaller. For some reason my eyes keep floating towards that piece so it distracts. I like the idea of the note so it is definitely a keeeper, but a bit smaller might work better.
-
Good call on that one. Once you mentioned it, it just kept jumping out at me. I aged the paper and shrunk it so it blended in better.

The control panel, marquee and bezel are off to the printer. It's going to take me a while to get the sides done, and I can't finish the control panel until the art is on, so I'll get these three printed first.
-
Looks great this way!
-
Looks good. What are the admin symbols?
-
Favorites, Config, Pause, Enter, Quit
-
Heh- I should have figured favorites was a heart. That one threw me off for some reason
-
Awesome! One of the best I've seen in quite awhile - I'd just recommend making the symbols for your admin buttons bolder/brighter etc. They seem to blend in perhaps a little TOO Much and may be tough to see when standing directly above the CP if you have a low-light setting.
-
Thanks for the kind words. For me, the art was the hardest part of this project. I wanted to do it once and do it right. The last thing I wanted to do was to skin a control panel and then later want to change how it all looked.
For the admin buttons, I wanted them to blend in, but then also be completely visible if you knew what you were looking at. All of the buttons on the control panel are RGB purple novagem buttons so I'm hoping that will light up the Plexiglas somewhat and cause the symbols to become more visible.

Just received the printed art yesterday from http://bowmansign.com/. (http://bowmansign.com/.) He's got a thread over in the hyperspin forums http://www.hyperspin-fe.com/forum/showthread.php?14155-Decals-and-Printing-for-your-HyperSpin-Cabinet (http://www.hyperspin-fe.com/forum/showthread.php?14155-Decals-and-Printing-for-your-HyperSpin-Cabinet)
The results were amazing.
A felt squeegee was even included for applying the art. Nice touch.

This one doesn't look washed out in person. I think it's the reflection of the flash off of the matte finish.
The marquee has a mask on it that will be removed once applied to the Plexiglas.

Looks really nice :applaud:

I installed the Marquee and bezel artwork. I wish the marquee was a little bit brighter, but that's the art that I chose. Perhaps I'll design another one and have it printed when I do the side artwork.
