Greets all...I've poked around...and I'm SURE the answer is on this board but I didn't see it.....
.....is it easy to hack a Kensington USB Mouse?
My intentions:
Tear apart a Kensington USB mouse and build my own little trackball box with 3 firing buttons.
Any suggestions?....the trackball runs about $100.00 so if this is out of my league I don't want to chance it.
But on the surface this seems like it should be easy....open track ball and attach (solder) arcade buttons to spots where the original track ball buttons are....
Any suggestions

Why would you mess with it when you can get a real Arcade Trackball & Oscar's USB mouse hack for less than that???
Just look @ therealbobroberts.com (http://www.dameon.net/BBBB/parts.html#tbs)
or
Ultimarc.com (http://ultimarc.com/orderd.html) (2 1/4" olny, but much cheaper!)
These will be much more sturdy & easier to mount too...
Or do have some other reason for wanting to use a Kensington?

...hmm...that's a great idea. I especially like the $26.00 of the 2.5" trackball. Thanks for the suggestion!

Add that with Oscar's USB mouse hack (with buttons) f/ $12.50 (I think)...
And you're golden! (Golden Tee that is)...
hehe...
