Can anyone point me in the direction of some modern arcade cabinet layouts/examples? I've seen a few around. Something like this:
______
I I I
I I I
I I I
I I I
I I_I
I I
I I __I__
I I I____I
I I I I
I I I I
I I____I I

There is really nothing to those, you don't even need plans. The larger ones are basically a standalone control panel in front of a projection TV. While the smaller ones are pretty much the same thing, but with a 27-33" monitor with speakers on the side.
If you have a Dave & Busters, Tilt, Gameworks, Jillians, or any other chain arcade in your area, then you should be able to go right in and measure one up. If you have none of those, then just call all the local theatres and ask if they have any arcade games, that should find you one of them. As a last resort you can try bowling alleys, but they are less likely to have showcase cabinets, and more likely to have a dedicated Golden Tee, a couple megatouches, and a pin.

There are several of these kinds of games usually in most Regal Cinemas' game rooms and it would be easy for you to measure them up.

You can pick up empty showcase cabinets.
