Title: Pictures of my collection
Post by: paigeoliver on November 06, 2003, 12:09:04 am
Here goes photos of most all my stuff (along with the two games that my friend Dave owns as well). No pictures of the cabinet for the Pong, and I didn't get a good shot of the Battlezone either (thumb over camera). I also hadn't picked up my Tournament Solitaire when these photos were taken, so I don't have any pictures of that yet either.

Here is the famous Amazing Mame cabinet.

Dave plays Victory. This guy is gunning for the world record on this pin, and his current top score is pretty close.

Dave's games. Both of these are dedicated, and both were purchased for incredible prices ($150 on the Super Strike and $100 on the Playchoice 10 dual monitor).

Dedicated Time Pilot cocktail serial number 000007. I-Robot and Quantum are common compared to this game.

how do you play Super Strike?

You roll a pool ball into the game and IR sensors inside read the speed and location and translate it into onscreen action.

It is super accurate, although the ball return is kind of noisy.

I myself do a bit better tossing the balls onto the playfield, while Dave does better rolling them in.

This one stopped working almost as soon as we got it, but I did several quick and easy repairs and now it is going strong. (It had a major ground wire that was down to one tiny strand, and the voltage was too low at the IR sensors, both fixed now).

I think Super Strike is in Mame, but there is absolutely no way to play it correctly without the dedicated cabinet.

Damyu!  I'm always jealous of people with original machines.  I've gotta get more room so I can get started on my collection...  :)

I sold the boards off with the monitor. They were bad anyway. I can get you in touch with the guy who has them if you want?

But they are just standard Midway 8080 boards. Same boardset as Space Invaders, just a different input board.

Did the one you saw have sound? Mine didn't have sound at all. No speaker, no speaker wiring, and a factory looking speaker blockout plate on the speaker hole at the top of the cabinet. I examined it very thoroughly, and I am almost 100 percent positive that mine shipped with no sound. (either that, or they did the cleanest job ever of removing the sound stuff).
