Title: Ultimarc PacDrive and LED Strip lighting
Post by: xscdx on February 18, 2013, 05:09:13 am
Hi,

I have a question.

I currently have the PacDrive setup with 12 LED Pushbuttons and was wondering if I could also hook up an LED Strip Light at the same time but take the power from a PC +12V source (yellow wire)  thus only connecting the ground wire to the PacDrive.

I could then utilise LEDBlinky to control my LED Strips.  I have attached a shoddy diagram showing my mad thinking.

Any thoughts?  cheers

I think you could be able to do that. However, you would have to treat your LED strip as a button in LEDBlinky animations. If you want your LED strip to be controlled seperately as cabinet animations, LEDBlinky requires that you use a seperatly LED controller to control the strip.

Yea, this is my thinking also.  A little trial and testing will determine which would be the best frequency for the LED strip react.  Its just the whole can I/can't i run both that I am not sure of :-\

This seems a good alternative until I can fund another controller  :)
