Title: Removing CRT from Dig Dug Cabinet
Post by: rtkiii on February 17, 2013, 09:41:41 am
I just have a quick question.  Do I need to discharge the CRT before removing it from the cabinet?  I powered it on yesterday and the CRT seems to work but I am only going to remove it and then sell it.  So is a discharge necessary?  Besides having someone to help me do
I need to take any other precautions?

Thanks,
Rich

Yeah, I would, esp. if you are going to try and sell it soon. One less thing to worry about.

How long before it discharges itself when powered off?

No! If you are removing the whole monitor, not disconnecting the tube from the chassis (electronics) no need.

After all if you were to buy a new monitor you would not discharge it when putting it in. If you are removing the anode (suction cup), different story.

That's what I was hoping.  No I am just removing.  Disconnected power and removed all other components to this point, just wanted to make sure.  Thanks!
