Post by: lilshawn on February 14, 2013, 09:26:33 pm

it seems to only be happening with a 40mb PDF i'm trying to upload. It shouldn't be too big. (says max 1024000 kb = 1024 MB= 1gb)  :dunno

so far the smaller stuff seems to be working okay.

still having issues with uploading files to the repository... I read they have to be reviewed? before they show up, not sure if anybody is checking them and that's why they aren't showing up... can I have access to directly post files there without a wait??

I wonder if the php memory setting for uploads was kicked up that high?

Let me look. We ran out of drive space again the other day. We have plenty more we can allocate so it's not a problem, but if I don't notice it'll hose out uploads. Are the uploads working but not being posted, or are they not uploading?

Only one I saw pending was some spammy Russian porn site thing. Let me know if you are able to get uploads to complete?

Had a problem with that initially but fixed in a couple of years ago I believe. Will check that again.

Lilshawn - tried something also - added a new group level with direct upload rights (doesn't have to have an admin approve the file before it's posted) and put you in it. Let me know if it works?

it's uploading (count to 100%), my computer waits for the server response...once received, loads the upload page again with the fields all still filled in except the file name field.

Chrome browser.

i'm going to cringe when i say this, but i'm going to go try IE...brb

EDIT: same result with *shudders* IE 8 - i'm going to throw up, I felt like i was bare-backing a dirty prostitute.

still having the issue.

I uploaded a small test pdf - 363kb file - no problem (says will show up after review)
I uploaded a medium test pdf - 1070Kb file - no problem (says will show up after review)
I uploaded a larger test pdf - 3545kb file - did not upload properly. (returns back to upload info screen with info fields still filled in, but no file selected to upload)

there is no error or other info on the screen. perhaps the file server is full and it's just spitting me back?  :dunno

bump badump.

I think there is a file size limit being imposed.

tried 2030kb - works  :dunno
tried 2078kb - no success
tried 2196kb - no success

i'll bet you 2048 kilobytes is the file size limit being enforced someplace.

also, is there some way I can clean up my test files without hassling you about it?

2m is generally the default limit imposed by php.ini itself.  Quick fix if that's what it is.

maybe something in the user account that change after an update, because there are plenty of files over 2mb on the repository.

http://files.arcadecontrols.com/details.php?image_id=3637 (http://files.arcadecontrols.com/details.php?image_id=3637)

is 8.5mb  :dunno

OK hm... set post_max_size too high, and I get weird black screens when posting replies. Set it too low, and that appears to be stopping file uploads of a certain size. Hmmmm...

Did it just now on this reply, too.

But NOT on the "modify" edit...  odd.

Title: Re: file repository

OK, I *think* I fixed the problem, and yeah, I caused it but not when trying to fix the file upload limit. It was something I did a few weeks ago, not sure why it didn't crop up until now. Boggle. Please chime in if you are no longer having the problem.
