Title: A good N64 emulator for KI Gold
Post by: Garvv on April 08, 2002, 06:33:40 pm
I've downloaded a few N64 Emulators, but also seem rather patchy, even the Nemu64.  Has anyone encountered an emulator which can handle Killer Instinct Gold? (this game was the entire reason I originally bought my n64)

People often ask me why I don't support console emus in RD and this is one of the main reasons why.  Eariler console emulators are good (nes/snes) about running games, but the newer one's run maybe one or two games correctly a piece.  Even if the games are playable there are always serious graphical errors, particularly with n64 emus.  My advice is either to run the u64emus for the arcade versions of ki/ki2 or simply keep playing them on your n64.  I've yet to find a n64emu that plays all of my favorite games, one of which is ki gold.

I have to agree that most newer emus are rather poor, guess KI Gold will have to wait a little longer to play on my cabinet.  I can head back to searching for the arcade romsets, though imo they are pretty tough to locate.  Thanks Howard,

Dont' know about ki gold...

Project64 is great...
Nemu probably next...

just download them all and try them.  The trouble is that most of the emulators can be configured to play some games.  I've heard of someone who got Guantlet legends running on project64 by swapping out the video plugin like 5 times before the game starts (since each plugin would allow it to get a little farther before crashing).
