Title: Who makes an Ikari Warrior clone 8-Way Rotary controller?
Post by: Man-Machine on February 12, 2013, 01:31:35 am
Is there a company that makes an 8-Way Rotary controller controller, just like the one on Ikari Warriors, that would work on a computer?

Thanks.

I don't remember seeing an Ikari Warriors LS-30 available from a vendor recently, but used ones show up in Buy/Sell/Trade (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/board,2.0.html) and KLOV (http://forums.arcade-museum.com/forumdisplay.php?f=11&order=desc) sometimes.

Not the same handle as the LS-30, but Happ makes a 12-position mechanical rotary stick (P/N 50-5618-00) that is electrically the same.

Divemaster127 has them here (http://www.arcadeemulator.net/cgi-bin/shop/cp-app.cgi?usr=51F4667969&rnd=8009314&rrc=N&affl=&cip=68.225.175.152&act=&aff=&pg=prod&ref=Rotary+Joystick&cat=Joysticks&catstr=HOME:Joysticks) on his site -- PM him (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?action=pm;sa=send;u=7532) to confirm it's not the optical version P/N 50-5619-00 since the order page has both pics and talks about both products, but lacks "radio buttons" to select which you want. (You might want to fix that, Gary.   ;D)

Mounting info here (http://na.suzohapp.com/joysticks/rotary_optical_joy_e.htm).

Thanks.

I don't understand how a person would twist it if you hold it like a normal stick. With the original handle you would grab it from the top which is way easier to twist. Am I missing something?

Thanks

There's a thread asking if there's a way to convert the Happ's round handle to the LS-30's hexagonal grip, but I don't recall seeing any good answers other than this (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,120563.msg1279647.html#msg1279647), this (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,120563.msg1280109.html#msg1280109),  this (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,120563.msg1280840.html#msg1280840), or this (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,120563.msg1281527.html#msg1281527).
