i'm trying to get diagonals to work in Demul. Everything else works perfectly. LEDBlinky log shows that 8 way joystick is loaded. Any help?

Any one using Demul with u360s?

Before you start your FE, start up the windows game controllers/joytick dialog or the ultimarc app. Then when demul is active, alt-tab over to the joystick app and confirm that the stick(s) are actually working as 8-way. This will help determine if the problem is with the u360 or the emulator.

Checked Ultramap while running demul as you suggested, it is still functioning as 8 way. I have the U360s set to easy 8 way, is this the recommended setting? here is a new debug.log. It appears to be loading 8way?

Attached debug.txt appears to be empty. But if Ultramap shows the stick in 8-way and the emulator game(s) are not working as 8-way then the problem would seem to be with the emulator configuration or something. I don't use demul so I can't help you with that - sorry.
Maybe try a different 8-way map (something other than 8-Way Easy Diagonals.um).

Its weird. I had this same problem with Model 2 games. But when I redid the joystick config for each game, it worked as it should. I tried this same method for demul, but it didn't work. Makaron is also not reading diagonals. When I use the keyboard during the same game in either emulator, i am able to do diagonals, so i'm quite baffled. Was there missing info in the debug.log that you need to see? should i start up hyperspin a couple more times and that game?

The only information the log would provide is which map was loaded into the u360 or if there was an error. You indicated that the log showed the 8-way map getting loaded (and the ultramap app confirmed this), so it would appear that LEDBlinky is working as expected.
Is it possible the demul emulator is expecting an analog joystick? If that's the case, then you can use the LEDBlinky controls editor to set the default primary control to Analog and then that map will be loaded when a game is launched (rather than 8-way).

It's possible but I'm not all that familiar with xpadder.

:lol Why do people always fail to mention the detail that is probably causing their problem?
I haven't used xpadder for a long time, but a quick google search says you should set x-padder to 4-way.
(even though that sounds crazy)

Sorry, it runs in the background so i completely forgot about it. I switched it to standard four way mode and rebooted. Still no diagonals.
