With Saints approval, I have created a small gallery at Zazzle.com (http://www.zazzle.com/link.asp?associate_id=238973133911825797&redirect=contributor&contributor_id=238126954769916370).
There is no minimum order, and prices range from around 20 bucks to 30 bucks depending on the type of clothing you want. Basically you select which color design and then place it on your choice of colored apparel (such as t-shirts, sweatshirts, henleys, etc).
So far there is the original (and my personal favorite) "multi" colored design, a yellow one, a red one, and a blue one. If someone wants a different color just let me know. You can match these to place on different apparel, such as sweatshirts, t-shirts, women's clothing (really), among others. Many different colors available for t-shirts, too.
Printing quality is superb. I am very pleased with the shirt. Very bright, colorful - and not puffy. Also, you can customize the design to add your name, msg board alias, whatever. Change the type color, font type, size, etc. If you want to customize you have to register with the site. Just an extra step but many different options are available once you do.
Check out these pictures (that's my coworker holding it up):

very sweet. I will have to get a poster or two and make those my sideart.

Hey Frosty...
How much did shipping end up being for yours?
I'm just trying to see how much $$$ I've got to embezel from my account (without my wife knowing...) to get the polo shirt!!!
-
IIRC, shipping was around 4.50. Total cost for me was 26 dollars. Not bad for a long sleeve t with front and back printing :)
-
Nice job Frosty, I like the original multi design. The custom name label is great!

Frosty how did you get your name on yours? I don't see that as an option.
-
You have to click on "CUSTOMIZE" - a small link on the right above the options box. You do have to register, but what happens is that it takes that design you wanted to customize and copies it into your new private gallery. Then it prompts you to change whatever you want. You can change it, delete it, or keep it in your gallery for future reference.
It's not as easy as just 'add name here', but the trade off is you have lots of freedom of typeface, placement (front/back/both), font color, font size, whatever. You can truely personalize it. Let me know if it all doesn't make sense.

I found it. Thats pretty cool, I ordered mine last night but I wouldn't have changed it anyway. The only thing I would change would be to put BYOAC in huge letters down one arm but that might be a little much. I think its going to look great just the way it is. I can't wait for it to get here now.
I'll never wear a different shirt again!
-
THAT IS VERY VERY VERY COOL !!!!!!.....
;D ;D ;D ;D
I'm going to order at least 1 hooded sweater and 1 t-shirt...
quick question....
what is the difference between basic T- shirt and premium T...???
-
Cool - glad you got it figured out.
Here's the product descriptions from the website (just click on the little ? next to the type of apparel):
ZAZZLE BASIC T's
Pre-shrunk 100% cotton for great feel and comfort. Brilliant Colors produce photographic quality, and are imprinted by a new digital technology that chemically bonds the ink to the cotton molecules. The resulting image is vibrant and durable, without that "decal-like" feel typically imparted by other heat transfer and screenprint methods.
The images are soft and breathable, there is no overprint around the image area, and the images have a "wash fastness" equal to or better than other 100% cotton printing methods. Choose from a variety of styles and sizes.
Basic T-Shirt
Pre-shrunk, 100% cotton, 6.1 ounce heavyweight t-shirt. Double-needle stitched bottom and sleeve hems. Shoulder-to-shoulder taping. Available in 11 colors.
Youth XS - Adult XXXXXL
ZAZZLE PREMIUM T's
If you want the best, this product line is it

He showed it to me prior to the announcment becaused he used the controls I had him make for the controls.dat to make the logo. so for therecord it is "Howard approved" :)
-
Hope you didn't take any offense to that HC, I was just being a smart-@$$. Just said that to see how many paid attention to that entry in the slogan poll.
-Kevin
-
I ordered mine! Thanks, Frostillicus!
That looks great, and it will go very nicely with my BYOAC cap! ;D
-
Cool deal! As soon as I decide on which color shirt I want, I'm in!
-
Just ordered myself one of those Raglan 3/4 sleeve ones. Shipping to Australia was $8.98.
-
oh yeah, forgot about that. If it helps anyone, it was $5.98 for shipping to Clinton, MD. Also the total for me for a basic longsleeve in Grey with my handle added under the front logo was 22.95. With the 5.98 shipping, my total(shipped) was $28.93. Thats just for everyone's reference. Obviously everyone's totals will vary.
-Kevin
-
Alright! Got the white/red raglan! Now I'll have a shirt, a hat but still no mame cab. At least I'll be all dorked up for the next auction :D
Thanks Frosty!

Its odd the black design on that one isn't available on a black shirt?

Heh - for those that are curious about the process - I offered to make some of the controls for that project, and also incorporated them into a controls.dat logo, which wasn't popular... - I believe someone said it was too "fun". :) The "Controls" part became the driving force in this t-shirt design - I am actually glad I didn't use it for the controls.dat project because it looks better on clothing. I made the controls at a very hi-resolution because I knew I might want to use them for something like this. Hey you never know there might be other uses for them in the future, too :)

Is there a way to customize the "ringer" style shirts? When I customize...the shirts just looks like a regular shirt.
-
PhoneGuy, you do realize that your images for your version of BYOAC t-shirts seem to contain exact copies of graphics from Happ Controls website?
-

When you customize it, the actual customizing process just uses a basic white T for layout. Then when you go to buy it from your private gallery you can pick whatever shirt you'd like with that customized design.
-
*edit*
(in response to jm)
Those are mine.... I put them up as a test, nothing more.... I just wanted to see how the alpha channel was gonna be handled through their service.
And yes those are happs installation diagrams. AFAICT They are public domain unless I use them to make pirated copies of their products. ;)
The lack of black shirts is a limit of zazzle. Find a better distributor and I'll post em there. I put the black design up as a test to see how it'd look... I'm working on adding a border or something so that a darker desing would still work.
In closing, go buy frosty's shirt, mine isn't finished yet and his looks better anyway. :)
-
Here is a pic of the shirt I just customized/ordered!
-
and here is a close-up of the logo
-
soslo: cool! That blue design sure goes with the blue collar/cuffs. Nice one :)
Now you need the red one for player 1 side... ;)
-
hah - definately ;]
-
I ordered a Yellow T !!! ;D ;D ;D ;D
and I also ordered 1 for my girl friend.... ;D ;D ;D ;D
now... let's see if we can wear it together and take a pic... haaa haa haa..... (with my BYOAC hat !!!....)
*** will need to finish cab *** so that wear that and take pic in front of the cab *** hee hee....

I finally placed an order for a custom named basic white shirt. Mac users might have problems with thier online checkout system, I sent them an email about it and I'm sure they have a team of highly trained professionals working on the problem as we speak. :P

Not just Mac users...
I ordered a couple of shirts a few days ago. Got the confirmation page with my order, etc. Never received a confirmation e-mail though, so I logged in tonight and went to "my orders" only to find that there's no record of it. I have an e-mail in to them as well.
Frostillicus,
Thanks for your efforts. Great design and nice layout on the shirt. (I *hate* shirts with huge graphics on the front. "Pocket" logos on the front are cool, though.)

Hmm...sorry it wasn't working 100% for you guys. I had no trouble ordering, I'm using XP. All I can say is to try again I guess.
So some of you guys might have gotten them by now, mine only took 2 days (regular fedex option). What do you think of them?

Actually, mine arrived today, so I guess my order was ok. (I was actually working on my cab when it came, which was kind of cool.) Still odd that it's not in my order history though.
I'm wearing one right now :) and I'm really pleased with the results. I ordered the blue "flavor". The printing seems well done, colors are rich and vibrant and seems durable. Never heard of Zazzle before this, but seems like they're doing a pretty good job.
Once again, thanks Frostillicus.

Shirt came yesterday, I really like it!
-
Mine came today and I love it. Something worth noting though is that mine doesn't look as vibrant as Frostillicus's does in the pics. I don't know if his camera brought out the colors more or what. I got mine done on a grey shirt which i suspect is why the brightness differs. Also i noticed in Eightbit's pic, the colors don't seem quite right. At first i thought it was his camera or something, but then i noticed the small bit of his jeans in the pic showed up fine. In eightbit's pic, his fadedness is worse than mine. It might just be his pic, i can't say for sure. This is all just for reference, i'm just inclined to believe at this point that getting it printed on a white shirt is your best option for great quality. Don't get me wrong, i'm quite happy with my shirt, but just want to give others a heads up on what they might expect.
Here's some closeup's of mine to see what i'm talking about.

-
The white parts of the logo are clear so the color of the shirt shows through. Thats why on my shirt the colors are not as vibrant as Frost's. I still love it. I didn't want another white shirt.
-
Homebrew - the printing will only be as bright as the brightest color available - in your case grey. That's pretty standard with any type of printing, and why I chose white. Those pics are a little blurry, though, so it's hard to tell exactly what the color is like.
Eightbit - I'm glad you like it - is that the camera or did you get an orange one?
-
Its orange, the picture was taken indoors with a flash. I think the color is pretty close. I'll try to get a better picture in natural light.
-
I have been waiting for a polo desgin with a circle over the heart with the web url in the outer ring and like build your own arcade controls like frostys shirt in the middle..maybe embroydered.. and nothing on the bac. I had a friend that did that kinda stuff.. but dont thave the number.. ill dig it up.. anyone else?
-
I got my grey ringer with blue sleeve/neck rings...pretty nice. A couple of things:
The artwork looked like it had holes in it, then I realized the button pictures had fake glares on them. On white it would look good, on grey it looks weird.
Second, the shirt is pretty big. I think they run a little large, FYI.
-
Soslo can you post a pic. It would be great if every one that ordered a different shirt could post a pic.
-
Ummm...I can, but it will be a while. I don't have a digital camera, so I have to wait until I get the film developed...though I did order a digital camera today...so either way, in a week I can post. :-\
-
I was thinking they run a little big too, but i thought it might just be me. Glad to know i'm not the only one that thinks so.
-Kevin
-
I got my Premium white T today! I'm very pleased with the print quality. In my opinion, it is so much better than what Cafepress.com offers (on t-shirts anyway), that there is really no comparison. I will say that I ordered a mug and a stein from Cafepress.com, and I was perfectly happy with those. But for t-shirts, this one is a *lot* better.
-
I got my yellow t... and also a lady's haze yellow t for my girl friend... will post a pic when I have a chance...
the haze yellow color is good... mine is a little.... hmm... too yellow.... :P
but its overall... its good....
-
I'm not sure what you mean by haze yellow, hyiu. Is that just regular yellow?
Print quality is top-notch on these, but like I said before it's only going to be as bright as the t-shirt, so keep that in mind when ordering. Consequently, it looks the best on a white tee. (really amazing, actually). I hope I didn't mislead anyone with anything - not my intention, of course.
edit - I'm still looking in the black tee....might be awhile though.
-
hi Frostillicus
I ordered 1 for myself, and 1 for my girl friend....
on the ladies styles... they offer different colors...
and one of them is called "haze yellow"...
its like a little lighter yellow... actually, that is very nice...
not complaining... but I think my yellow t... the yellow color is "too strong"....
anyway... will try to make some time this wkend and take and post a couple of pics... then you'll all see what I mean....
but the design is very good.... I like it....
Thanks for all the work !!!....
-
hyiu - cool, and sorry if the yellow is a little too intense - but glad you are still happy with it :)
-
Mine came today and I'm pretty excited about it. I ordered long-sleeve, in the "natural" color - basically, off-white. The colors are vibrant and the print quality looks great.
I ordered a large, and I would say it's slightly big (which is what I was expecting based on prev. comments). It's not too big, though.
Thanks, Frosty, for the excellent work.
-
Are you a Robert Lynn Aspirin fan?

Got mine in the mail yesterday. 11 days to Australia for $9 aint too bad. Anybody else down here order one?
-
That yellow is very....yellow :) But they came out pretty good, thanks for the pics ekopp and hyiu. Glad you like the shirts.
-
Got mine-plain white. Looks amazing! :) I can't imagine getting gradients to print any better than this. Fantastic work Frosty. I couldn't be happier. WOO HOO!

Yes, I can't wear that Polo shirt with that giant thing on the back TO WORK!
I'd LOVe one with just that big design (the full Build your own... from the back) shrunk down and put over the heart
or something like that....but I don't wear polo shirts around the house and I'd love to show off my dork-e-ness at work with a lovely polo. :)
I just got my hat from Pixelhugger..now who's gonna make me some BYOAC pants and socks to make me a total loser!? ;)

how many shirts have been sold so far?
-
These look pretty choice.......too bad there wont be mirrors to watch the expressions of people walking behind you, scratching their heads going "What the H$ll does that say..?????"
Oooh good...XXL, for those of us spending too much time gaming and not enough time...errr.....doing anything else that would get us out of a XXL shirt =D
;D ;D ;D ;D
-
Oh...just a note...is it just me, or does this design some-how cry OUT for an Arcade cab, or rather...a "charichature" (sp?) of an arcade cab......
-
YEAH!
perhaps a cab silloutte in the background
-
how many shirts have been sold so far?
Sorry totally forgot to reply to this one....
Just checked the site just now and looks like a little over 20 shirts total. Most popular one is the original design.
-
umm im not meaning to insult you guys but ummm....... isnt that a little geeky wearing a shirt about building arcade controls? lol sorry i just wouldnt wear that in public ;D
-
with your sig I wouldn't think you'd care ;)
-
yeah thats true, i dunno though. i fully admit im a geek to people, but i just dont wear shirts about being a geek :P
maybe if i was like 35 and already married, then i wouldnt care. but im 19, i dont think arcade controls pick up the ladies 8)

Well this might sounds stupid to you but you have no idea how many girls have been completely impressed and excited by the fact that I was able to build an arcade cabinet from scratch, especially when you show them it has Ms Pacman and Frogger on it... You shouldn't sell yourself short. If a girl disses you because you had fun building an arcade cabinet, then trust me, thats not the kind of girl you want.
-
word. I just turned 24 last week...and my wife doesn't seem to care that I enjoy building arcade machines from scratch ;)
-
My girlfriend says "You're a dork".... but doesn't care.
I actually can't wait till it's done .. so I can tell her she can't play.. ;D
I don't know that i'd rock the T-shirt, tho. :-D
-
I know many women, who while not exactly into gaming like most guys, are nevertheless impressed by the arcade cab in my living room. They don't know _why_ I built it, but have a good respect for the dedication it took to build it.
Of course the guys dig it, too :)
-
Is there a font that I can download that is used to make the t-shirt?
-
I think I just soiled myself! Frosty, you're like a prophet, send from the Arcadian Heavens to show us the errors of our ways, and that we can find salvation in front of the gentle glow of our marquees, and strength from our control-strewn CPs.
Well, I think I'll have another arcade-related expense to add to the list in the not-too-distant future ;D !
-
Hey, where's the one with the babe with the small shirt? ;D
yeah thats true, i dunno though. i fully admit im a geek to people, but i just dont wear shirts about being a geek
Then you are not a true geek. You're a poser. ;D
maybe if i was like 35 and already married, then i wouldnt care. but im 19, i dont think arcade controls pick up the ladies
I haven't been to an arcade recently. Have you scoped out to see if any girls are there, other than the ones looking bored waiting for their boyfriends to quit playing to leave? I think I'm going to have to head out there just to fulfill my curiosity now.
When I brought up the idea of building a cabinet to my wife her exact words were, "That would be cool." I'm still building my sons toybox right now and she's already nagging me to start. I love her so much! 8)
-
Heh... I'm 34, and my girlfriend is 31, but she's loves playing my Mame cabinet as much as I do! Ok... maybe not *quite* as much as I do. But she's really addicated to Tetris Plus 2, Bust a Move, and Up N' Down!
I'm usually playing Golden Tee Golf online all night so she can't use it... WUH HA HA HA HA!!!! Anyone else out there playing GTG with a real GTG 3 inch trackball like me? My name is Stroker Ace 8).
