Title: Newbie with a Golden Tee 2005 cab
Post by: welshjpc on February 04, 2013, 01:40:41 pm
Hi all,

Have just taken the plunge and bought a golden tee cab (not working). Have got a PC ready with Maximus & MAME and have controls, trackball and IPac2 and OptiPac cards.

Wondering, does LEDBlinky have a way of running the LED bank on the top of the cab?

Will doubtless be in touch lots in the near future, the sooner I get the whole thing running and looking nice the better! Thanks in advance.

I am going to make an assumption and say that you are talking about the tournament play DMD. I don't know for sure that nobody has come up with an interface for the DMD on a Golden Tee to connect to a PC, but last I checked it was a no go.

That's what I feared, ah well, means I can remove the internal looms with less worrying about cutting power / data lines. Anyone need a Golden Tee loom?

Can fit a second marquee light & decal, will make the cab look needlessly tall but better than blackness. Cheers!

Doesn't GT 2005 run on a PC in the first place? If it does then there must be a way for the PC to control the DMD.

Doesn't look like, I've just bought the cab, it's got a big old JAMMA loom in it, the marquee reads Golden Tee 2005, could it have been an upgrade? It will be a shame to rip out the LED bank but I can't see any way of getting it connected to my PC, grr.

The board is a PC-Based jamma board running god knows what for an OS, and using a 3dfx card that outputs at medium resolution to generate the graphics (with some on-mainboard method of downscalling the graphics to std. res).

I have one too, and love it.  Good luck with your cabinet!
