Title: UK Keyboard Visual Pinball Simple Testing Request
Post by: PL1 on January 31, 2013, 11:27:49 pm
Question for someone running Visual Pinball using a UK keyboard setup (shown below), Degenatrons' AVR Encoder Firmware (optional), or the new KADE firmware (optional):

On the U.K. keyboard, which key triggers the default for Upper Right Flipper?
On U.S. Keyboards, it's ' (ASCII 39) next to the Enter. (Located where the red box is on the diagram above.)

If you have the AVR Encoder/KADE, does the Upper Right Flipper Input (Input B8 on AVR Encoder Pinball mode, input B5 on KADE's Pinball default) work with VP?

If you need a table to test this, try the Defender (http://www.vpforums.org/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=326) table from VPForums.org.

The Defender table uses Upper Right Flipper to trigger smart bomb.

Just coin and start, no need to launch the ball to test smart bomb.

You'll see the lights flash and score increment when you press the correct button for Upper Right Flipper.

You only have 3 smart bombs at the beginning, but that's enough for the test.

Thanks in advance for any assistance from our esteemed cousins across the pond.   ;D

Answer found for anyone wanting to run Visual Pinball on the U.K. Keyboard layout.

For the Upper Right Flipper (') -- Oem Key Codes are different between the U.S. and U.K. layouts, but the key tied to ASCII 39 works on both for Visual Pinball.

Thanks for testing, John.   :notworthy:
