Title: USB interface for Happ 3" Golden Tee (red pcb)
Post by: X-fact0r on January 29, 2013, 10:24:43 am
I've recently acquired a cheap used 3" Happ tb from a Golden Tee arcade.

In order to connect it to the PC I've googled and found some great sites with PS2/USB hacks. The problem is that I was unable to get it working with neither of the two machines I have atm (XP/Win7) and after messing with the HID driver settings I could get a erratic jerky movement of the cursor...

Is there a way that I can get this tb to work with mame?
Do I need an interface such as Opti-Wiz or the Opti-pac? Would these work with this red pcb tb?

Thanks.

Sounds like a wiring issue in the mouse hack. My mouse hack from years ago has been flawless across xp and 7 never had to touch any settings. If you need a pic I can post one up.

good day.

The Red PCB's are the new ones. I've got one in my 4-Player Cab.

You can get the Opti-Wiz with a plug-and-play harness. That's what I did, as I didn't want to deal with backspin, nevermind digging up an ancient crate of ball mice. :)

Thanks guys!

@chopper,
I followed the instructions on this website:
http://www.techdose.com/projects/Arcade-Trackball-Mouse-Hack/363/ (http://www.techdose.com/projects/Arcade-Trackball-Mouse-Hack/363/)

I would appreciate if you could post a pic in oder to confirm functionality just before I trash some $$ on the Opti-Wiz ;)
