Title: Trackball Question???
Post by: Cisco Kid on November 03, 2003, 12:33:20 am
Anyone here using the 3" Trackball with USB and PS/2 Interface from Happs??? (considering it for my new control panel ... the installation seems idiot proof and would require no Opti-PAC ;D )

If so ... do you like it and would you recommend it for MAME??? ( ... and before anyone mentions the price ... I don't care ... I have the cash to burn  ::) )

I have the very similar PS/2 Wico one, and it is great.

I have a Happs 3" Tball with their ps2/USB interface. Haven't tried it in a cab yet, but it works as discribed in Windows. No complaints other than the price. ;)

I have to say... the easiest solution in my opinion is the $10 mouse hack from Oscar.  I tried hacking one myself (that I bought for 4bucks) and creamed it... For 10bucks and its done..

NOTE:  He only usually has the ground for one axis (since he uses it for spinners)... I don't remember what he charges for a second wiring harness... but it was also super cheap.

Next, you have to combine the grounds.  Takes about a second to do.
