Hello everyone,
In 2012 I was caught with the Arcade virus. I love the classic games from the 80's and then I saw the Icade for the Ipad , I had too have that but when I got the little thing It was cool for a while, but I wanted something more like the Original Arcade cabinets. After googling for a while I stumbled upon the Arcadecontrols forum and read a lot of many many great home build projects.
I was inspired by the cabinets of Martijn ( Streetfighter and Marvel vs Capcom ) and the Global Arcade classics cab and merged the designs into a slim curved cabinet. I started to design the cabinet in June 2012 and finished it one year later, with all classic game consoles and Mame installed with Hyperspin Frontend.
Below are a lot of pictures made during the build till the end.
Hope you like the design and get some inspiration out of it, tell me what you think and if you have questions don't hesitate to ask.

There's so many aspects in building an arcade cabinet that some steps might be 100% completed yet the cabinet as a whole will still be only 5% done.
Looks like you're making good progress on your build, but I'm curious about the drawer in the back of the cabinet? It would be a cool way to mount a six-slot Neo Geo MVS motherboard to give easy access to the carts.

Hi Yvan256, I owned a C64 and Amiga 500 in the past and want to play all those games from the old days so the hardware drawer is going to be filled with a normal PC with Mame and some emulators and a frontend ( not desided yet hyperspin or maximus arcade ), so no NeoGeo.
I'm now putting much time in the Artwork, this is what I got so far.

This is very nice indeed. I love the curves on the cabinet and I like the simple cp layout. Also I really like the artwork design.
Is the cp going to sit inside the sides or on top of them?
-
Looks like the CP will go on top of the sides assuming the CP sized bit of mdf in one of the pics is actually the CP :)

A great looking cabinet! I love the neat effective artwork especially. Something I'll strive for whenever I build the cabinet and manage to take a break from playing the games to add it!

After moving the cab from my work to home , the internal hardware could be placed and the wiring could be done.

And here the final pictures with artwork and hyperspin installed.

That is so sharp looking, love it!

I like the retro styling! Good job!

That's some sweet artwork going on right there!
Not usually a fan of overlapping control panels but the way it flows into the cabinet looks fantastic. :applaud:

Looks good!
