First of all, many, many props to our own GriffinDodd for assisting me with getting this machine. It's one of my all-time favorites, and he was good enough to sell it to me. All I had to do was give my wife a weekend in San Digeo in order to get it. Drove 6 hours each way, spent two and a half relaxing days in one of my favorite cities, and had the pleasure of meeting one of our own and his family. I also got to see the Revolution and the WeeTail in person. The photos do neither justice. Both are excellent examples of true BYOACing.
I plan to do a full restore this spring/summer, but in the mean time, the game works, the nostalgia is flowing, and I owe GriffinDodd a ton of gratitude. That's why this hobby is such a great one.

You beat Frank to the deal.

Sweet score! :applaud:

Nice score! Moon Patrol is awesome.
Nice that you could have a little vacation around your road trip. Good idea.
-
Granted I can't see the whole thing, but that looks so nice that it may not even need much.
Congratulations. Moon Patrol is definitely high up on the list of games I want that I have never owned.

It's nice to see somebody greying gracefully too, that is, unless you're just between your "Just for Men" hair treatments... ;D

I'm in Education, bro. Been greying since I was 23.
The cab itself would be fine in a dark row with other machines. It needs a good once over, like GriffinDodd posted, but it's not falling apart or anything like that. And the game works, which was most important on the list. No way my wife would go with me 700 miles round trip for something that didn't work. >:D

Ok, first thing I did today was change the plug to a grounded one, since it didn't have one. Did all my crimping and splicing and ... nothing. Check my connections... nothing. Look up, see the interlock switch.... :badmood:
Pulled it out to on, it fires right up!
I've been woodgluing internal wood strips that came apart. So far, so good!

where is the "i am jealous icon"¿

I'm going to have to rebuild the back doors on this can. I meant, I don't need to, but I think it would be fun. It currently has one long door that works well, but I would like to look into rebuilding it to be originalish.

My can has one back door too. Not sure what I'd do with a second one but I've had plenty of folks offer to tear me a new one over the years ;D

Althought it's a pretty sweet can that I have, I meant to type cab. ;D

Love love love this game. Awesome music, background scrolling, and "personality" of the rover (like how it tucks its wheels up when it jumps). Congrats Yotsuya!
-
Yeah, I played the crap out of this on the 2600 as a kid. I love this game and I'm so happy to add it to my burgeoning collection.
-
So apparently my cat is getting into this "I Can Haz" meme...
-
Your kitteh looks like he's telling Frank, "U no can haz--iz Yotsuya's score and I guardz it." ;D
