Hey,
I was looking at my Ms. Pacman tabletop machine (AKA the cocktail model), and I noticed the chips were removable inside. I have a EPROM burner that is probably compatible with the chips on there (I'm guessing it uses 2732 or 2716 chips?), and I wanted to see if I could put on different games, like Dig Dug or Donkey Kong. Is this possible? What type of chips would I need?
Thanks!

Ms Pacman and Dig Dug are not even by the same manufacturer. The boards share nothing in common so no the ROMS are not interchangeable.
The only way to get multiple games on a cocktail is to replace the board with a multi board or mame the cocktail.

Thanks for the quick response! Good to know. Would other Midway/Namco games work, like Space Invaders, or is this PCB only good for Pacman/Ms. Pacman?
Thanks!

Games of that vintage are for the most part defined by the PC board not the roms so changing roms to change games is usually not possible. There are a few PC board where the game was upgraded to another game with roms but that was rare.

Wait, you have a board that has both games or this one? (Ms. Pac-Man)

For a ROM swap without changing the PCB, there is a speedup hack mentioned here (http://www.arcade-museum.com/game_detail.php?game_id=8782).

It's just a Ms. Pacman, but I figured that Pacman would probably run on it as well. That second PCB looks pretty close to what I have.
Thanks for all the input guys! Maybe I'll look into one of those Jamma multi-game boards.

There are several chips / add on boards to turn a Pacman or Ms. Pacman into a multi-game board. The games then run on the original hardware. One example is Mike Doyle's 96 in 1. I have one of these installed in a Ms. Pacman cocktail. http://home.everestkc.net/mdoyle/multipac.htm (http://home.everestkc.net/mdoyle/multipac.htm)
There are others that have fewer games. Mike is working on a newer version of his board to keep high scores separate for the fast vs. regular versions of games. You do not need to replace the original board or Mame it to get more games. To run on original hardware, you are limited to what will run. Also, most games are not as simple as just changing a ROM. There are color PROMs needed to get the right colors, etc.
These chips / add on boards do not have the emulation issues, sound problems, etc. experienced by the JAMMA multi-game boards.

Hey guys read the OP posts. He is not asking about MS Pacman and Pacman. He is asking about Dig Dug, Donkey Kong and Space Invaders. No multi pac board is going to help out here. He has already figured out that multi pacs are possible.

It's all good; extra information is always useful. Thanks!

Pac to JAMMA adapter and a 60-in-1 is the cheapest and easiest solution to get you what you want.
