Depends on your controls but I have a soft spot for Toplan games so Ghox. Otherwise if you can’t control it to your liking I’d say thunder and lightning.

I don't have to eliminate games where they can stand on their own. I take it you think Gauntlet 1 and 2 are interesting enough to keep both?

Gauntlet and Gauntlet 2 are both keepers in my book. Same with Miglia 1 & 2

I like them both about the same. There just aren't many significant changes in game play between the two. The series didn't get a proper redux until Legends. But that's how it was back then. One machine is a hit, come out with a sequel the very next year add some reflective shots a Dragon that guards exits and make it so more than one fan boy can be the Valkyrie and sell it at inflated price to purveyors of arcade amusements.
Doesn't mean II didn't have some nice touches, but I have these on my cab for the "I remember that game" effect, I doubt very seriously that me and three of my closest friends are going to make a run at a billion levels of 8 bit monster generating hell.
