Title: Ipac fails to update
Post by: Erik on December 27, 2012, 11:41:58 am
I sent Andy an email on this but looks like he may be on vacation until Jan 5 so I'm posting here in the meantime

I'm trying to program an old ipac2 using the legacy winipac 1.0.16 and I get "FAILED (Page 1)! Adjust download speed".  I move the download speed slider all the way to the right and I get the same results.

The device is plugged into the PS2 keyboard port on the pc.  Jumpers are on PS2 and ALT and the app is set to the "old" ipac2.

Any ideas?

Self update after trying about 100 more times to program it..

If I mess with the timing sliders enough I can get it to almost complete.  I no longer get the adjust download speed error, and it starts programming, then displays a message about resetting IPAC but after a few seconds I get "FAILED! Reconnect IPAC"  :-\

Wrapping up this conversation with myself in the event someone else ever runs into this...

Found a DOS util called ipacutil.  The file itself is actually called ipacu1.exe for anyone searching.  I made a win98 boot disk with mouse drivers and the utility on a flash drive.  Booted from the drive, ran the utility, configured the buttons, it programmed in a second or two and all is well  :blah:
