I have a Tron mini with nonworking boards that I was thinking about maming with no external changes.
The control panel (for those that are unfamiliar) consists of a spinner, two leaf switch start buttons and the Tron trigger stick. I attached a picture of one for reference (not mine, I have the black stick).
I want the gamelist to only consist of things that will play good with these controls but I don't mind if the start buttons get doubled up as gameplay buttons.
So far the only definite games on the list are Tron and Satan's Hollow.
What other suggestions do you guys have? Games would have to be 8-way or 2-way and must alternate play in 2 player mode. No platformers or puzzle titles or other games that would be weird with that huge stick. I might want to stick to classic era titles for the most part. Maybe 30 games max.

You don't like Tron. Sell it to someone who would restore it. You know, generate a little income.

Battle Zone with the one joystick hack here (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,129258.msg1321723.html#msg1321723).

Gorf
Zaxxon
spinner games:

Carnival, Galaga, Space invaders might feel different but right using the spinner to move left and right and pulling the trigger on stick to shoot.

It just hasn't generated any interest with other collectors (probably because it has a non-original marquee and Tron cabaret marquees are unobtanium) and I would need to replace it with another mini because it is in the area of my gameroom that has a shelf on the wall that is too low for uprights.

Now we have.
Tron
Satan's Hollow
Gorf
Zaxxon
Super Zaxxon
Arkanoid
Tempest
Solar Fox
Battlezone isn't vertical, so that won't work.

Mad Planets
(never heard of or played that game, but came accross it while searching online)
-
Space Harrier
(oops....not vertical...But it would still work with the control, just smaller. Might have to fight the diagonals a bit.)
-
I had the same problem.

I never played Tron, I suppose the flight stick isn't analog or a 49 way?
-
It is an 8-way however it heavily favors the primary directions.

So all your typcial flight stick games are out then like After Burner, Thunder Ceptor...
What about Exerion? I know it has a joystick, but I always thought it would play better with a flight stick.
-
Exerion is a nice choice indeed.
Most of the typical flight stick games are also horizontal in nature and we only need vertical titles here.
-
Might as well add galaga and galaxian to the list. Could be fun with a trigger stick. On that note tapper could be interesting with a trigger stick.

I should probably note that it has a 60 in 1 machine (with the 8-way titles disabled) sitting right next to it. So that means I would probably skip Galaga, Galaxian, Space Invaders, Pleiades and The End.
-
Galactic Storm wait that's horizontal. Crap this is hard.

Mad Planets
(never heard of or played that game, but came accross it while searching online)
+1 This game probably gets the most play on my tron/mame cab.
Ps, I do have a gameslist generated with romlister for my controls but it has lots you do not want.
-
Exerion, but you'd have to double map a start button for rapid fire...
-
Post it anyway.

Yep, and now I am going to walk into the St. Louis auction tomorrow flush with even game fund cash to buy something nice and won't have to do my usual (lets see how many $25 games I can buy thing).
And never mind, looks like someone just bought it off me.

Try to find a mad planets! .
Edit - just incase sombody wants it in the future I have attached my mala gameslist .MLG file.

Ugh, the auction was terrible. Too many buyers compared to number of games. Almost everything was 25" (and I can't get half of those into my basement), and the only classics were C list cocktails in nice shape that sold for too much, chewed up and spat out Ms. Pac cocktails that looked like they had spent time buried underground, 2 horrid Galaga project and a rough Turbo that had both a bad monitor and bad boards.
Scored an upright megatouch for $50, bought a couple cheap video gamblers and bought the back half of a showcase cabinet that I already relisted on here because the monitor in it was incomplete and the monitor was why I was buying it.
Pretty much worst consignment auction ever.

The only game you need! Freakin' awesome.

Zwackery has almost the same controls as Tron, and the same exact ones as Discs of Tron, I believe. The only difference I think is Zwackery uses a push/pull spinner.
