Title: Mounting LCD
Post by: Evilpenguinj on December 20, 2012, 11:53:36 am
Hi Guys

I am putting an LCD in my cabinet and I wondered at what angle should it be at.  Is there a standard that I should be adhering too?

You can mount it at any angle... but it will work best if that angle you mount it will allow the screen to be perpindicular to your face...

If you intend to mount it at a fairly steep angle (parallel to the plane of the ground like in a cabaret style), you may find that the viewing angles from "below" are pretty terrible on most monitors.  It's often much better from "above", so you can turn the monitor around and use the appropriate driver option to fix the image.  Some commercial arcade games do this.

Note that IPS panels won't do this nearly as badly, but they cost a lot more.
