Post by: xefned on December 18, 2012, 06:47:49 pm

It's not all fun and games.
Still I found this raw footage worth a watch...

This is so awesome!

There needs to be a "How It's Made" episode on building arcades.

I can see the epic puns already....."Building Pac-Man arcade systems, We will show you how they create games one bite at a time" - epic pun queen  :lol

All I could think of was the PITA clipping all of them was when I stripped my Ms. Pac. The zip-tie lady did her job very well!

No no, the one after her. The pear with a decent caboose. Terrible posture, though.

I found the interview with Bally Midway's Marketing VP Stanley Jarocki to be interesting as well. The company was riding high on the success of Pac-Man back in '82, that's for sure.

It seems as if Jarocki saw the home video game console as nothing more than a tool to get people accustomed to video games and more willing to pump quarters into the arcade machines.

Actually, with my solder-fu, I usually stop when everything plastic connected to whatever I'm soldering starts to melt.

I remember that absurd idea. Even as a kid I knew home computers and stuff was the future.....which is why I waited until the future to get one.

No nooo. You inhale, exhale, squeeze the trigger.
