I'm wanting to building a controller so i can play from my couch. Using my logitech gamepad has been nice but its time to upgrade. I'm just looking for a single player controller. I kinda have in mind my button layout, but I'd like to find detailed dimensions for the controller itself. I know i can build a big square, but I'm wanting this to be more ergonomic and easy on the wrists. Anybody have plans that i can take to a local carpenter or know of a site that i can have the wood cut for me? I've found some nice pixs on the main web site as well as in the controller layout forum, but since this is going to be a lap controller, not a cabinet/desktop controller I'm wanting it to be comfortable for longer play.
Besides the more I can make the Wife enjoy this, the easier it will be to build a 4 player cabinet ;D

Are you going wired or wireless?

I'd copy the dimensions of a fight stick. My coworker got the Qanba 4, works with PC and consoles. He seems to like, I saw it in the box, but didn't play it.

Focus Attack has some joystick cases (http://www.focusattack.com/joystick-cases/) that might work for you.

Check out what I use in my project thread, in my signature. They're very comfy in a recliner, highly recommended!
Mine are custom, but you could do the same with the prefab boxes in PL1's link. That's probably your best bet, or you could just buy a Mad Catz TE if you want something totally finished. They can be modded later.
