Hi guys,
Let me explain briefly the context of this issue.
I bought a new Makvision TriSync CRT monitor for a replacement in my mamecab machine+arcade VGA 9200. Everything was working flawlessly until the monitor blew up for no reason (spikes and popping sounds).
After a long research I finally got a new CRT monitor but this time it'a a DualSync 15-25khz. Unfortunately the monitor fault has damaged the MB which has been also replaced with a spare one (same model).
This is now what I have when turning the cab on : the Bios POST message appears on the screen and the image is bright and crisp (thanks god I said my videocard did not suffer from the bad fault! :notworthy:) but then on Window start the desktop is completely garbled!
Here some pictures to better show you the problem.
Now what is important to know is that the Tri Sync utility was installed with the Makvision monitor to force it to run the desktop at 31khz! This program is still installed and active. Do you think this can be the culprit??
Shall I install a generic videocard connected to a lcd monitor and uninstall the utility? (There is no way to see what you are doing on the screen monitor)
Thanks,
Rick

boot the OS in safemode, uninstall drivers/trisync/etc. reboot and reinstall the software fresh.

I can swap the Arcadevga card with a generic one I have here as a spare and connect it to a LCD monitor. I think it would be more easy for me to get into windows and de-activate the trisync utility...

Hi guys,
I have set the tri-sync utility to standard 15khz mode and reboot with the arcade VGA card but no luck :banghead:Still the same garbled image on the screen.
I start to suspect the Arcade VGA card has badly suffered :dunno :dunno
It's an AGP old card and really do not know where to find a spare one.....

I was thinking to go for a generic ATI card like the ATI radeon 9250 which is the same as the Arcade VGA version 2 (Agp slot). Is it possible to flash it with the Arcade VGA bios? Is this complicated to do? ???
