My friend has a Space Odysey Pinball machine and it powers on but the flippers don't work, any idea what it might be and how to fix it?
-
Driver transistor? Faulty Wiring? Dirty switch contacts?
-
What and where is the driver transistor? No fuse or anything?
-
Do you have a manual?
-
Nope

Space Odyssey is a 2 player version of the 4 player space mission so any circuit diagrams of space mission should be helpful.
Attached is a link to Williams general PB troubleshooting guide for machines around that time.
http://www.pinwiki.com/wiki/index.php?title=Williams_System_3_-_7 (http://www.pinwiki.com/wiki/index.php?title=Williams_System_3_-_7) (not applicable to Space Odyssey or Space Mission but left for interest)
Here is the EM guide since 76 is just around the time that the systems changed
http://pinwiki.com/wiki/index.php?title=EM_Repair (http://pinwiki.com/wiki/index.php?title=EM_Repair)
and part of a Space Mission circuit drawing (Looks like an EM machine) so ignore the System 3 to 7 manual
The flipper circuits are in the last 2 pieces of the PDF

There may actually be a fuse on the underside of the playfield near the back. Check that first. I forget if Space Odyssey would have one but I've seen games with that blown and it's hard to find if you didn't expect its presence.
