Title: VGA Adapter Questions, TV Questions, HELP PLEASE
Post by: LASmith132 on November 28, 2012, 05:41:46 pm
Hey Guys,

Wondering if using an adapter to go from the graphics card to the adapter out to the tv would slow down the game play? or have some sort of lag?

graphics card: Gefore 8400s with s-video
Tv: Akai 25" CRT with only component and composite video in.

The powered Adapter allows VGA to go to composite.

I HAVE NO IDEA WHY MY ADAPTER that plugs into my s-video out port to allow me to plug directly into the composite in doesn't work.

I have messed with my video settings so much and my tv I feel like I am going insane, thats why I am thinking about getting this adapter.

Any Ideas?

Sometimes you have to select the option in your video card software so it knows what type of signal to output.
If you don't have the software, you can download it from Nvidia.

If your adapter allows for component video instead of composite, use that.
There is a world of difference.

I'd buy a different video card before spending money on a box to create a low res composite picture.

Yes, a vga to composite "converter" can cause significant lag, they all do.  It's because it's scaling your vga output resolution to 480i.

I'd also recommend avoiding composite.
