Title: where to get custom oil paints mixed?
Post by: thaddeussmith on November 27, 2012, 11:38:58 am
I found a paint swatch at Lowes that is VERY close to the Neo-Geo red vinyl on one of my cabinets. The problem is that I'm pretty sure they only mix and sell custom paints with a latex base. Where can I take this swatch to get a color matched oil base paint?

Do you have like a sherwin williams store near you? I think they mix oil paint. Although, I think if you are in California, you might have to go out of state to get it done. I hear oil paint is pretty regulated there.

Just had a quart (only size you can get) of oil matched and mixed at a Sherwin Williams in a Chicago suburb.

In some states Sherwin Williams can still mix enamels too.

I'm in N.Texas and didn't even think about Sherwin Williams. I think I do in fact have one nearby, so I'll give them a shot. Thanks!
