Title: Kareoki (sp??)
Post by: Lilwolf on October 30, 2003, 11:55:16 am
Is there any file formats that you can get (similar to the ones for stepmania) for Kareoki types?

My daughter is JUST getting into music.... (yes... the crappy boy band or kids bop 1-x)...  And I thought it might be a good excuse for her to start reading.

Anyway, I know there are lyrics out there for almost every song that ever existed..

I was wondering if anyone every put a standard file format for timing for each word?

I was considering writing a Jukebox (because I'm need a project... ) and I thought this might be something to look into.

Thanks

btw, I'm wandering if there is a seperate file format for Karaoke..

I know about the .kar file format (music AND lyrics) but was hoping that there was either a file format to bridge a lyrics.txt file and a mp3

IE something to use with your existing music / videos

well there is CDG format which can be made into MP3 karaoke

im sure there are other formats but i think this is the standard for karaoke machines and players so it might be good to get the +g part ;)
