Title: Choosing fighting character after win?

I am sure this has been asked before, I but I searched and I searched, so I apologize if it is a common topic.

In arcade fighters, when you play p1 vs p2, the winner is stuck with his previous character choice. I have looked at dip settings and tried cheats, but I can't find an option for any fighter to enable character select for the winner after the first match.

Anyone have any idea?

some games have 'event' mode in the test menu which allows this. Not all though.

Good to know. I always wondered what changes came by putting a game in event mode. Never actually tried it yet though.
