My monitor is in a working Mortal Kombat II cabinet. Looking at the game schematic, VSync and HSync is combined when the JAMMA harness is connecting to the monitor.
The WG manual states the following...

Hmmm.....I've never heard of a 2100 series monitor from Wells-Gardner.
Wells-Gardner and several other monitor manufacturers built their monitors to accept a wide variety of sync signals. I don't see any advantage to splitting the sync if what you have hooked up now is working fine.

I originally had my HSync and VSync combined when connecting my ArcadeVGA to my WG25k7191. Originally, my PC/VGA Act Labs USB Light gun didn't work. I recently read a post from Andy Warne that said he did a lot of testing, and determined that the Light Gun won't work unless you separate the VSync and HSync.
It meant that I had to add a wire to a contact on my monitor that never had a wire before (for the VSync). Now the Act Labs gun works great:

That's one advantage of splitting them, anyway.

Since I am planning on a light gun in the future, that is exactly the kind of information I was looking for. I'll split them apart and see how it goes.
Thanks!

I split my sync wires, and it workes great. It even seems that I have a slightly better picture than before, or it could just be my mind rationalizing the change. Probably the later....
