Title: Touchscreen question
Post by: jmarket on November 16, 2012, 07:33:17 pm
I was at a business today that supplies arcade machines to local companies picking up an arcade cabinet. I noticed they had a ton of Megatouch force units sitting around and the guy told me they dont get logic boards for them anymore. I think they were megatouch 2000 and 5000. I asked him what kind of input the touchscreens used and he said vga. My question is could I use one of these monitors to hook directly up to a computer and use it as a jukebox and play touchscreen games?

Thanks

It should also use a USB or serial connection

Not sure what you mean. Why would it have vga and usb to serial? Are you saying it will work with a standard pc or not?

The VGA will just provide video to operate the touch screen will be a serial or USB connection

So I would need some kind of adapter to hook to the computer that will make the touch part of the screen work through the usb or serial port of the computer?
