Title: Steering wheel setup issues in mame
Post by: brucelee00 on November 04, 2012, 08:58:27 pm
Hey Everyone,

I've tried looking through the forums on this issue, but haven't had any luck finding anything that applied to my issue. I am trying to setup my Thrustmaster GT steering wheel/pedals to work in mame. I am currently running Mame 0.136. All the drivers are setup for the steering wheel and is being properly recognized my windows 7 pc. The steering wheel works in driving games, but something is not quite right. For example, when I go into the Mame menu while my steering wheel is plugged in I cannot scroll down with my joystick, only up. and when i press down on the gas pedal the menu highlight bar starts to erratically scroll down. I'm not sure what needs to be done here, but any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! My apologies if this has been answered elsewhere on the forums, that I may have missed. Also note, that settings are all set to defaults in mame.

UI up and UI down are mapped to your pedals in MAME.
Go into the in game menu (TAB), then where you map the controlls for all games, there is an option that says "other controls".
The default is the keyboard arrows AND analogue joystick 1 (which is what it's taking your wheel and pedals for)
Remap it so that it only uses the control you actually want to use.
