Title: GensFE and MAMEWah
Post by: EggZilla on October 27, 2003, 03:25:48 pm
Seems like a match made in heaven, but I have one complication. Some of my games are bin files, and some are smd. Thus, I can generate lists that contain one file type or the other, but not both. I've currently got them set up as two separate emulators, but does anyone know of a way for me to get MAMEWah to list both file types simultaneously?

I was thinking I might zip all the files and tell MAMEWah to look for that file extension, but it would be quite time consuming to zip each file individually. Is anyone aware of a quick fix that I'm just to dense to notice?

Cheers,

Eric

I'd recommend zipping them as Luxury says.

But you could try setting the ROM Extension to '*', and try that.  I can't remember if Gens requires the ROM Extension to be sent (quite possibly), but if not, it should work.

Check Zophar.net, I pretty sure there is a SMD <-> BIN convert tool floating around.

Actually, I just did it manually. I didn't have a great many files, and with WinZip in my right-click menu, it only ended up taking about 15 minutes. Thanks to everyone for your advice though - it works flawlessly now!
