Title: more issues - glaunch not working, et al

hey guys - couple things now:

1. DMame sometimes goes into and immediately exists a game without starting or anything, what gives there?   this is when running from command line to just try and run individual games.

and 2. GameLauncher just returns an error: "cannot change graphics mode" when i try to run it.


side note:  thanks to my connection being dialup and AOL, i can never get connected and stay connected long enough to download all the stuff i need to recompile MAME without the nag screens.  anyone out there with such a recompiled copy?  i KNOW i'm not supposed to ask for it but i'm fresh out of ideas.

I get the same "cannot change graphics mode" when I try to run GameLauncher on my laptop.  I have not figured it out yet, and I have tried just about every graphics mode on my laptop.

Same problem here.  Works on some of my comps but not others.
