Title: which golf game?
Post by: john_mame on October 26, 2003, 11:24:06 am
Well, after ordering and receiving golden tee golf pc version in the mail, I found out it doesn't run at all in win2k.   :(

Now I'm looking for a good pc golf game that uses the trackball in a similar fashion as golden tee.
I have MS Links 2001, which kind of uses a trackball, but its side to side instead of up and down.

Anybody know of any relatively new golf games that use the trackball in a up/down fashion?

Most of use will suggest to not use windows 2000 for gaming as it sucks for gaming.

Links is simular.

i would suggest links 2003. also has the mouse/tb swing, and from what i understand it's a little more polished than tiger woods and has free online play. at the time i was checking out golf games tiger woods had some sort of pay per month thing going. i don't know if that's still the case or not.

tiger woods is also a good choice. i just wanted to throw out another title for you to try.

i'll also mention that win2k isn't really a bad os for games. for most recent games it's a better choice than 98se since they spend more time tweaking the games for the nt based os's(nt, 2k, xp). it's older stuff where you'll have a problem. xp would probably be your best bet. ymmv though.

WAAAY OFF TOPIC...but, hey, the topic had already strayed.  ;D

The 2000 core was updated with the latest service packs...basically it's XP without all the eye candy...and a few other toys. On my machine with 2000 SP4 & DX9 I get almost identical gamming benchmarks as when I was running XP SP1. I dunno...might just be my rig???
