Title: dat file list creation

OK i wanted to use MameWAH to generate my rom lists from ClrMame dat files... i downloaded the GoodGen_0_9997.zip from clrmame site.

i placed this in my emulator directory and renamed it to emuname.dat, and set the list method creation type to dat file only. however on refreshing the list, i just the dat file listed in the game list.

any ideas?

also does anyone have a good dat file for snes?

You will need to unzip the zip file (hopefully extracting a dat file), rather than just renaming it.

sorry, didnt write that part ni did i, i renamed the dat file it produced... no joy

I just did it so to avoid confusion here's what to do from start to finish:

Unzip 'gen_9997.dat' from GoodGen.zip into your Gens folder,
Rename 'gen_9997.dat' to 'gens.dat' (assuming gens.exe is your emulator),
Setup Gens in MAMEWAH and set the List Generation Method to 'DAT File Only'.

Now refresh the list :)
